Fun holiday traditions to enjoy with family
Holidays are here and it's the most magical time of the year for the kids. But it can also be the most stressful time of the year for Moms. We have this unsaid responsibility to make it the most memorable Holiday Season for our kids, because this is what they will remember. And those perfect social media feeds don't help us either!
What if I told you, there are things you can do that will make for beautiful memories and won't weigh you down with all the pre-planning? Here’s a list of fun and stress free Holiday Traditions to start this year that will bring you and your family so much holiday cheer without the extra stress!
Decorate the house
Turn this chore around into a fun activity. Pop some popcorn, get some hot cocoa, play Holiday music, turn on the twinkling lights and spend some fun time decorating your house for the Holidays. Whether it’s decorating the tree or putting up Holiday lights in your yard, involve the kids. It won't be perfect but it will be so much fun!
Bake a favorite family recipe
Is there a family recipe that you have perfected over time? Well, now is the time to pass it on! Involve the kids in baking, tell them the story about this recipe and how it has traveled through generations. Don't be afraid of the mess, you are creating some beautiful memories here!
Neighborhood Holiday tour or show
Another low key activity is to go for a walk or drive around the neighborhood after dinner. It's winter and it gets dark so early! Make use of the early sunset and enjoy a free light show in your neighborhood. Some neighborhoods go all in and quite literally put up a show! Run through those lights for a heart full of cheer!
Watch the same Holiday Movie each year
It might feel weird but kids love repetition. To watch something they have watched before and know what to expect, there’s nothing better than that!
Get popcorn and cozy up on the couch for a night full of fun and relaxation.
Get matching PJs
Matching PJs might have been the cutest and most comfortable invention ever! Am I right? Get matching Family PJs and lounge around. Who needs tulle when you can get around with comfortable cotton!
Camp in the living room
Sleeping bags and pillows on the floor, blazing fireplace, twinkling lights and camping in the living room is hands down every child’s dream!
Give them a fun night, share stories, make some smores and spend the best time ever!
